Arsenal attacker Lucas Perez is set for a spell on the sidelines after being dealt another injury setback, according to a report.

Goal claim that the 28-year-old is set to spend the next three weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury he picked up during training ahead of Arsenal’s clash with West Brom on Saturday.

The setback ruled Perez out of Saturday’s fixture, which Arsenal lost 3-1, but is also expected to keep him out of the upcoming Premier League ties with Manchester City and West Ham after the international break.

Perez has featured only intermittently for Arsenal since his summer move to the Emirates, with fans demanding that he be given more regular action for the first team.

He has made just 21 appearances for the club in all competitions this term, of which just nine were starts.

His Premier League action has been particularly limited, having been restricted to only two starts from 11 appearances.

The lack of regular action has reportedly seen Perez grow increasingly frustrated with his bit-part role at the club, fuelling talk that the Spaniard will quit the club this summer.

But his latest injury setback will do little to increase his chances of becoming a key player in the coming weeks, as Arsenal seek to turn around a miserable run of form that has seen them fall to sixth in the Premier League.
