‘Incredible’ – Declan Rice reacts to Beth Mead’s emotional England message
Sarina Wiegman’s England celebrated their European Championship success with an open-top bus parade in London on Tuesday.
The Lionesses retained their Euros title with a penalty shootout win over Spain on Sunday, 27 July, with Hannah Hampton making two heroic saves.
Spain took a 1-0 lead via Mariona Caldentey’s goal, but England once again showed their character to equalise and found a way to win via spot kicks.
Wiegman’s women were rewarded for their efforts with a jubilant welcome home on 29 July, while the likes of Chloe Kelly revelled in the glory.
Rice reacts as England star Mead makes Euros victory admission

Beth Mead contributed towards the Lionesses’ historic summer by notching one goal and two assists in six Euros appearances.
The Arsenal Women star took to Instagram on 29 July as she wrote: “Cannot put into words today, you guys were incredible. Thanks so much for the support.
“It came home again.”
Mead’s message attracted a like from fellow Arsenal star Declan Rice, who is vying to help Mikel Arteta’s men win the Premier League.
Rice set for his most important Premier League season yet
Football Insider verdict
Since Arteta became Arsenal boss in 2019, the Gunners have made tangible progress and won the FA Cup in 2020.
The North Londoners have finished second in three successive Premier League seasons, landing narrowly behind Manchester City in both 2023 and 2024.
Then, amid their previous lack of an out-and-out striker, the Emirates Stadium club finished a concerning 10 points behind reigning top-flight champions Liverpool last term.

Arsenal have responded to that setback in the transfer market well, though, by acquiring prolific striker Viktor Gyokeres, as well as strengthening their midfield with the additions of Martin Zubimendi and former Brentford captain Christian Norgaard.
Now that the North London side have signed the final piece of their jigsaw in Gyokeres, they will vie to beat both Liverpool and Manchester City to Premier League glory.
To achieve such lofty ambitions, Arteta will need his established stars like Rice to continue performing consistently across all competitions.
