'Get rid', 'Garbage', 'Fraud' - Arsenal fans annihilate £90,000-a-wk player for display v CSKA

Arsenal fans have annihilated Shkodran Mustafi for his performance in the 2-2 draw with CSKA Moscow at the VEB Arena on Thursday night.

The Gunners booked their spot in the Europa League semi-finals thanks to a 6-3 aggregate scoreline, but Mustafi’s display in the heart of defence had fans worrying, especially after his poor concentration cost them a goal.

The 25-year-old German failed to anticipate a loose ball in the penalty area to allow Fedor Chalov to score one of the easiest goals of his career when Petr Cech was unlucky to not to push the ball far enough away from his goal with a quality save.

Mustafi has came under fire a lot this season and that lapse in concentration against CSKA led to yet another onslaught of criticism being launched his way on social media.

One angry Arsenal fan claimed that manager Arsene Wenger must “get rid” of the centre-back in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal signed Mustafi from Valencia a fee worth around £35million in 2016.

He has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this term and scored three goals in the process, all of which coming in the Premier League.

The Daily Star has reported that the Germany international earns £90,000-a-week on his deal at the Emirates, which still has three years left to run on it.
