Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Oxalde-Chamberlain display v Middlesbrough
By Dominic Toner
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain completed 90 minutes for Arsenal in the win against Middlesbrough – and the club’s supporters were full of praise on Twitter about his performance.
The 23-year-old was used in an unfamiliar right wing-back as Arsene Wenger decided to play a three-man defence.
The Gunners managed to earn a 2-1 away victory at the Riverside and it kept them in the hunt for the Champions League places.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil were on the scoresheet for the north London club, meaning Alvaro Negrado’s header turned out to be a consolation.
Arsenal fans highlighted the display of Oxlade-Chamberlain and feel that he was their best player, benefiting from the change in formation.

Oxlade-Chamberlain the main beneficiary of three at the back. Very impressive. Holding composed as well. #AFC

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future at the Emirates Stadium is not clear and he is reportedly being eyed by Premier League rivals Liverpool.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Jurgen Klopp is stepping up his move for the unsettled midfielder and is not deterred by the £35million valuation.
The versatile midfielder has become an important first team player since his arrival in 2011 from Southampton, but several people feel the England international has been unable to fulfil his potential.
However, he is not the only player to be criticised this season and Arsenal are still up against it to finish in the top four despite their win over Boro.
They now turn their attention to an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City and will need a near-perfect league run to make the top four this season.
