Arsenal fans stunned as ‘unbelievable’ Leandro Trossard footage drops v Man City

Arsenal fans have been left raging at referee Michael Oliver after new footage emerged following Leandro Trossard’s red card v Man City.

Mikel Arteta’s men were left gutted after a late 2-2 draw at the Etihad with goals from Riccardo Calafioi and Gabriel Magalhaes after Erling Haaland’s opener, before John Stones equalised after 97 minutes.

However, their task was made significantly harder when Trossard was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card for kicking the ball away.

Following a foul on Bernardo Silva, the 29-year-old smashed the ball up in the air, delaying the restart after the referee’s whistle had already been blown.

In a similar fashion to Declan Rice against Brighton, the Arsenal man was given a second yellow card and the Gunners were reduced to ten men.

However, fans noticed an incident earlier in the game which saw Man City’s Jeremy Doku kick the ball away and delay the restart without punishment as they shared the footage on social media.

Since the controversy surrounding Rice’s dismissal, Arsenal fans have been especially attentive to such issues, and tempers have flared once again after the City clash.

While the decision to send Trossard off may have been the correct one, the lack of consistency in the officials’ decision-making has been a major issue throughout this season.

As seen with Joao Pedro who avoided a booking against Brighton, it seems Doku should have been booked for the same offence Trossard later suffered from.

Fans were left incensed by the footage as it did the rounds on social media, labelling the officials “corrupt” and the decision “unbelievable”.
