Arsenal fans urge club to sign Champions League wonderkid on Twitter

By Will Butcher

Arsenal fans are desperate to see their club make a summer move to sign Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe after he scored against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Mbappe, 18, scored his 17th goal of the season for the Ligue 1 leaders during his side’s 3-1 win over Pep Guardiola’s City, which saw the Premier League side crash out of the competition.

Manager Arsene Wenger admitted to the Daily Mail that he made an approach for the French wonderkid last season, and could look to reignite that interest in the summer.

The Gunners could look to boost their attacking options ahead of the 2017-18 campaign, as they sit 16 points behind league leaders Chelsea and outside the Premier League’s top four.

With doubts surrounding the future of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil who have just over a year left on their current contracts with the Gunners, Mbappe could be targeted by Arsenal.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

As well as scoring 17 goals in his 30 league and cup outings for Monaco, 11-time France Under-19 international Mbappe has also laid on 10 goals in assists for Leonardo Jardim’s side.
