Arsenal make decision on permanent Neto transfer – sources
Arsenal are not considering pursuing a permanent deal for on-loan goalkeeper Neto this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 35-year-old shot-stopper is on loan with the Gunners from Bournemouth until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
Mikel Arteta’s side did not agree an option or obligation to buy Neto as part of that agreement with the Cherries, and they will not attempt to keep him at the Emirates Stadium into the 2025-26 season.
He is under contract at Bournemouth until June 2026 and was replaced at the club through a loan move for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is now their first-choice goalkeeper.
Arsenal will not pursue permanent Neto deal
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Monday (10 February) that Arsenal are confident of signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia this summer.
The Gunners wanted the Spaniard last year but couldn’t finalise a deal and instead moved for Neto after allowing Aaron Ramsdale to join Southampton.

David Raya is the first-choice for Arteta, meaning Neto has made just one start for Arsenal this term.
The one-cap Brazil international has made 63 appearances during his time with Bournemouth, conceding 99 goals and keeping 13 clean sheets.
Arsenal working on deal to sign striker
Arsenal are also likely to be in the hunt for a new striker in the upcoming summer window amid questions over current top forward Kai Havertz.
Football Insider revealed last week (4 February) that Wolves star Matheus Cunha is keen to play for a bigger club despite signing a new contract in recent weeks.
Cunha attracted interest from Arsenal in the January transfer window but he pledged his future to Vitor Pereira’s club.
Diogo Jota of Liverpool is also attracting interest from Arsenal as the Reds become frustrated with the striker over his persistent injury problems.
