Arsenal player ratings v Bournemouth: Defender is 3/10

By Dominic Toner

Football Insider rates the Arsenal players after their 3-3 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League clash on Tuesday night.

Petr Cech 5 – The goalkeeper can’t be blamed for Callum Wilson’s penalty, but should be disappointed with being beaten by two non spectacular efforts inside the penalty area.

Hector Bellerin 3 – Terrible defending on Bournemouth’s first goal as he left Charlie Daniels completely unmarked, he was then beaten too easily as he tried to recover. Was at fault once again for Bournemouth’s third as he was too weak in the challenge with Ryan Fraser, who went on to score.

Laurent Koscielny 5 – The centre-back made some good challenges, but his usual leadership qualities went missing.

Shkodran Mustafi 4 – He looked extremely nervous on his return to the starting XI and was caught out of position on numerous occasions.

Nacho Monreal 5 – The left-back did support Alexis Sanchez well on the left hand side and delivered some good crosses.

Francis Coquelin 5 – The combative midfielder was on the pitch during Arsenal’s first-half collapse and was forced off injured.

Granit Xhaka 5 – The central midfielder gave away a penalty for a needless challenge and was also extremely poor from set-pieces. Not a good performance from the £30million signing for the most part, did deliver the cross for Olivier Giroud’s late equalising goal.

Aaron Ramsey 5 – The Welshman didn’t do much to prove he warrants a starting position and lacked creativity.

Alex Iwobi 5 – Tried to support the attack with his pace, but was just unable to get into the game.

Alexis Sanchez 7 – Arsenal’s main man was alert to grab their first goal when they were 3-0 down and showed his commitment to the team.

Olivier Giroud 9 – The French striker was extremely quiet for the most part and came alive in the latter stages. He grabbed two assists and set up a tense finish to the game. Giroud then scored an equalising header to complete a remarkable comeback.
