Arsenal player ratings v Crystal Palace: Summer signing gets 8/10, striker 9/10

By Will Butcher

Football Insider rates the Arsenal players after their 2-0 Premier League victory against Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Petr Cech 7 – Joined the Emirates crowd in watching from afar as Arsenal dominated the top-flight encounter. Couple of slightly worrying efforts in the second half were easily dealt with.

Hector Bellerin 8 – Continued to prove why he is rated so highly at the Emirates, as he offered an attacking outlet on the right but remained defensively astute.

Laurent Koscielny 7 – Solid display at the back for the Gunners, coped with Christian Benteke well as he kept his eighth clean sheet of the season.

Gabriel 7 – Satisfactory display from the Brazilian, but question marks still remain over the defender.

Nacho Monreal 7 – Looked good at the back but provided less than Bellerin when going forward, as he came back into the side in place of Kieran Gibbs.

Mohamed Elneny 7 – Combative and aggressive performance from the Egyptian midfielder, gave the Gunners a steely look in the middle of the park.

Granit Xhaka 7 – Nothing spectacular in the middle of the pitch as he kept things simple and ticking over for the Gunners. Unlucky not score from long range as goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was off his line.

Alex Iwobi 8 – Good performance from the academy product, scoring the Gunners second by showing a predatory instinct with a powerful header from close range.

Lucas Perez 8 – The £17.1million summer signing got back well for the Gunners as well as providing the link between midfield an attack. Showed his class with plenty of nice touches.

Alexis Sanchez 7 – Did not have as much impact on the match as what is expected of him, but supplied Giroud with a good assist. Missed a sitter towards end of the first half.

Olivier Giroud 9 – The Frenchman scored what could be one of the goals of the season with a wonderful scorpion kick that hit the bar and squeezed past goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey. Worked hard, proved that he deserves a starting spot.
