Arsenal player ratings v Liverpool: 24-year-old is 1/10
By Amir Mir
Football Insider rates the Arsenal players out of ten after their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday evening at Anfield.
Petr Cech 6 – Couldn’t do much with the three goals conceded and pulled off some good saves to save his side’s blushes.
Hector Bellerin 3 – The Spaniard was poor throughout the game, in particular, going forward where he failed to keep control of the ball or produce simple passes.
Shkrodan Mustafi 4 – He was not helped by his midfield but when the home team attacked they simply couldn’t cope.
Laurent Koscielny 3 – Perhaps the poorer of the two centre-backs. The club’s senior man is one of the most experienced players in the team and a so-called leader. He showed none of that at Anfield.

Nacho Monreal 2 – Sadio Mane ripped him to shreds and Arsene Wenger made the big mistake in starting him ahead of Kieran Gibbs.
Francis Coquelin 2 – The defensive midfielder couldn’t cope with the attacking trio of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane coming at him.
Granit Xhaka 1 – Awful display from the summer signing. The 24-year-old was the worst player on the pitch. He couldn’t cope with the attacking and aggressive speed of the home team.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 5 – Despite a poor showing from his team he was the only shining light during the defeat. Still needs to work on his end product.
Alex Iwobi 3 – He didn’t show up and as simple as it sounds Alexis Sanchez should have been selected ahead of him.
Danny Welbeck 6 – Did well to score his goal and he should be starting more games for Arsenal. He offers threat when attacking and does a job going back.
Olivier Giroud 5 – The Frenchman made Reds keeper Simon Mignolet pull off a very good save when the score was at 2-1. Did well considering his team’s defeat.
