Arsenal plot Aaron Ramsdale U-turn as Nottingham Forest swoop – sources

Arsenal are considering allowing Nottingham Forest target Aaron Ramsdale to leave on loan before the transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners have set a big-money price tag for the 26-year-old but it is believed they could now U-turn and accept a loan offer late in the window if a permanent bid doesn’t arrive.

Sources say Nottingham Forest and Southampton are among the top-flight clubs who “would love” to land Ramsdale on a temporary deal.

The transfer is only likely to get done late in the window as Arsenal hold out for big-money bids.

Nottingham Forest could seal Ramsdale loan after Arsenal U-turn

In any case, Football Insider revealed on Monday (29 July) that the London club plan to sign a new second-choice goalkeeper before sanctioning an exit for Ramsdale.

Mikel Arteta is keen to keep two top-class goalkeepers in his squad for the 2024-25 campaign after adding David Raya last summer (2023).

Arsenal are scouring the market for potential signings to come in and replace Ramsdale, who made just 11 appearances across all competitions last term.
