Arsenal have halved their valuation of Kieran Gibbs as fellow Premier League side Watford re-enter the race to sign the defender, according to a recent report.
The Evening Standard has revealed that Arsenal have cut their original asking price of £15 million for the 27-year-old down to £7 million.
The newspaper claims on their website that Newcastle and Bournemouth were among the other clubs interested in signing Gibbs but were put off by his price tag.
They could now re-join the race after Arsenal change their valuation.
The Evening Standard report that the England international’s agent has been in talks with Galatasaray, but the defender is keen on staying in England.

The report suggests that a deal is possible between Watford and Arsenal as deadline day looms, despite waiting to agree personal terms and a final fee.
Gibbs joined the Gunners’ youth squad back in 2004 and worked his way onto the senior team.
Since then, the defender has made a total of 229 appearances across all competitions for the north London club but has fallen lower in Arsene Wengers pecking order over the past few seasons.
Nacho Monreal has become Wenger’s preferred left-back choice, while new signing Sead Kolasinac has knocked Gibbs even further down in the backline rankings.
Football Insider verdict
Wenger has made is clear through his squad lists that Kieran Gibbs is no longer part of his plans at the Emirates. With just a year left on his contract and no signs of keeping him, the Arsenal boss should look to offload him as soon as possible which is why lowering his price tag was a wise choice. £15 million for a fringe player was rather optimistic, and a valuation of £7 is definitely more likely to secure a quick last minute deal. At Watford Gibbs is also likely to play regular first team football and find a spot in the club’s starting XI, which is something he has sorely missed during his recent time at the north London side.
In other Arsenal transfer news, the club have met with a midfielder to offer a huge £180,000-a-week wage package.
