Arsenal star Declan Rice reacts to David Beckham’s welcome message

David Beckham’s latest message has caught the eye of Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice.

Following a glittering playing career, Beckham has been busy building up his MLS franchise, Inter Miami, over the last few years.

And he’s done so to great success, with the Herons winning the 2023 Leagues Cup alongside the 2024 Supporters’ Shield and Eastern Conference titles.

Miami have also welcomed some football royalty to their playing ranks, boasting Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba in their current squad — while the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi have also donned the pink jersey.

David Beckham welcomes Fernando Torres to Inter Miami

Beckham took to Instagram on Wednesday (16 July) to welcome another football legend to the Miami facility.

This time, however, it was an ex-player arriving in Fort Lauderdale, with former Liverpool, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres taking a tour of the Floridian club.

Beckham posted images of himself welcoming Torres, with the Spaniard also snapped chatting to the likes of Messi and Busquets.

“Bienvenido a Miami, El Nino,” read Beckham’s caption.

The post, of course, didn’t go unnoticed, with Arsenal and England star Declan Rice giving it a like, while former Tottenham, Liverpool and LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane did likewise, adding some fire emojis to the comments.

Since retiring, Torres has launched his Nine Fitness brand of boutique gyms.

Inter Miami closing on Rodrigo de Paul transfer

There’s even more excitement on the horizon for Inter Miami fans — and indeed MLS as a whole — following the news that Rodrigo de Paul is closing in on a transfer to Inter Miami.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that Atletico Madrid have accepted the MLS side’s proposal for the 31-year-old and that final details were being sorted on a four-year deal.

De Paul is a 78-time Argentina international and won the World Cup and two Copa America titles alongside Messi with his country.

The midfielder also boasts massive experience at club level, with almost 500 appearances under his belt for Atletico, Udinese, Valencia and Racing combined.

That includes 34 outings in the Champions League, with De Paul helping Atletico reach the last 16 in 2024/25, where they were controversially beaten by city rivals Real Madrid.

Beckham may well be gearing up another ‘welcome’ post this week.
