Noni Madueke has won Arsenal fans over with his dazzling display in the Gunners’ 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
When Arsenal were set to sign Madueke from cross-city rivals Chelsea, some of the Emirates Stadium faithful set up a petition against the move.
Therefore, the 23-year-old had a lot of work to do to win over fans of his new club after agreeing terms in North London during the summer transfer window.
The winger notched 11 goals and four assists across all competitions for Chelsea last season, but Arsenal fans were not convinced he was the right man to sign, amid the presence of Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri.
However, Saka’s latest absence through injury ensured that the former Chelsea man started on the right wing against Nottingham Forest.
Meanwhile, Madueke excelled as England defeated Serbia 5-0 in Belgrade on Tuesday, 9 September.
Fresh from scoring his first goal for the Three Lions, the 23-year-old performed well for the Gunners in their comfortable victory on 13 September.
The winger proved a nightmare for Forest’s backline to deal with, completing more dribbles than any other player involved in the match with four, as per FotMob.
Furthermore, Madueke put his direct style to good use, creating five chances, which was also more than anyone else on the field.
But while the former Chelsea ace put on a great performance at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest, the goals came from Martin Zubimendi’s brace and fellow summer signing Viktor Gyokeres.
