Arsenal star ‘out for months’ after ‘awful’ injury – fans devastated
Arsenal fans are convinced Riccardo Calafiori could be ruled out for “months” after he picked up an injury during their pre-season clash with Newcastle.
Mikel Arteta’s side ran out 3-2 winners at the Singapore National Stadium after a strike from Anthony Elanga was met by Mikel Merino’s finish and an Alex Murphy own goal.
The second half saw Jacob Murphy pull the Magpies back level, before Martin Odegaard’s 84th-minute penalty gave the Gunners the win.
However, the focus of many watching fans lingered with Calafiori, who was withdrawn just four minutes after the half-time break with an apparent injury blow.
The Italy international missed 26 games through various injuries in his debut season since arriving from Bologna last summer, leading to plenty of frustration amongst fans.
Now, fans are expecting the worst yet again after his withdrawal during the pre-season clash as some went as far as to claim he should be sold as a result of his availability issues.

Mikel Arteta considers Calafiori sale amid AC Milan interest
Calafiori’s future at Arsenal has been called into question in recent months as a result of his lack of availability amid suggestions the Gunners could cash in.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 5 May that Arsenal will make a decison about Calafiori amid interest from Serie A clubs.
Just 12 months after his £42million arrival from Bologna, the Gunners could be prepared to let the defender leave as AC Milan watch on.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Arsenal are prepared to sell first-team players this summer, with a number of fringe players eyeing moves away.
Arsenal fans rage as Riccardo Calafiori suffers new injury blow
This is not the first time Arsenal fans have been left fuming at Calafiori as a result of his shocking injury record, as it became a feature of last season.
Despite his clear talent when available, and the lack of major left-back options at the Emirates, his record has been a source of frustration at the Emirates.
Taking to social media after his latest injury blow, watching supporters have shared their concerns and labelled the defender “a real problem” and “horrible”.
