Alexis Sanchez has returned to training ahead of Chile’s World Cup qualifier against Uruguay on Tuesday, and Arsenal fans on Twitter are hoping he doesn’t play.
Images in The Mail show the Gunners star, who fans feared could be out for an extended period after picking up a hamstring injury, taking part in the training session on Saturday.
Supporters urged Chile coach Juan Antonio Pizzi to bench their star player as Arsene Wenger’s side have a number of important fixtures coming up in November.
One fan stated that he would prefer Sanchez to be wrapped up in cotton wool to ensure he returns to north London fully fit.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

The Guardian reported that Wenger had told the Football Federation of Chile not to put his star striker at the risk of an extended spell on the sidelines.
The 27-year-old has started the season in sensational form, scoring six goals in Arsenal’s opening 11 Premier League fixtures as they are fourth in the table.
The Gunners are just two points behind league leaders Liverpool and have an important fixture against rivals Manchester United following the international break.
In other Arsenal team news, supporters on Twitter have laughed off Alexis Sanchez’ £50 million transfer speculation.
