Jesus is said to be open to leaving Man City at the end of the season to reunite with his former coach Mikel Arteta.

His contract at the Etihad runs until the end of June 2023.

When asked by Football Insider if Jesus would be a good option for the Gunners through the middle, Campbell said: “100 per cent.

“The great thing about Jesus is that he can play on the left and the right as well as through the middle. He is a goal threat and a workaholic who knows how to win.

“Mikel Arteta obviously knows him very well from his time at City.

“I still think Arsenal will need another striker as well as him though. We are short in that department.

“I think Jesus would be a really good signing though.”

Jesus has been in scintillating form of late and scored in Man City’s 4-3 win over Real Madrid on Tuesday.

He has contributed 12 goals and 12 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions this season.
