‘Arsenal to sign steal Jonathan David deal’ – Fans react to latest at Lille
Arsenal fans agree that the club and Mikel Arteta should sign Lille striker Jonathan David on a free transfer this summer after what they saw him do in Europe.
Despite losing to Dortmund 2-1, the Canadian striker scored inside five minutes for his side, taking his tally up to 22 goals in all competitions this season.
David and teammate Angel Gomes have been linked to West Ham, with both players available on free transfers.
The Irons are not the only Premier League club interested in the former Genk striker, with Newcastle linked to David.

Arsenal in need of a striker with Kai Havertz out injured
Following a season ending injury to Kai Havertz, and injuries to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, the Gunners have fallen out of the Premier League title race, sitting 15 points behind Liverpool.
Arsenal made a £60million offer for Ollie Watkins in January, but that offer was rejected.

David would be an interesting prospect for the North London club, given his similar style of play to the Aston Villa striker, and would be both a cheaper, and younger alternative.
The Lille man has scored 106 goals in his time in France, and has shown an ability to not only play as a striker, but also an attacking midfielder.

Arsenal face competition from Premier League and Serie A clubs for Jonathan David
Dharmesh Sheth reported in January there had been interest in David from four unnamed Premier League clubs, as well as two Serie A teams.
Arsenal are understood to have a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old, but given the lack of transfer fee involved, there may be a bidding-war for the Canadian’s services in the summer, driving up his wages.
Following his stellar performance against Dortmund, Arsenal fans took to social media, with one fan saying “he’d be a steal if Arsenal signs him on a free”, whilst another sent a message directly to manager Mikel Arteta saying “get Jonathan David for free.”
