Arsene Wenger delivers no-nonsense update on future of Arsenal 28-year-old
By Danny Wright
Arsene Wenger has stubbornly put to bed rumours about the future of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.
The 28-year-old reportedly stormed out of training last week after a row with his boss and teammates and was subsequently dropped to the bench in Arsenal’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday.
Sanchez came off the bench at half-time and supplied an assist as Danny Welbeck scored what would turn out to be just a mere consolation goal.
The Chilean international returned to training on Monday and shook hands with Wenger ahead of the Gunners’ Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
“Alexis Sanchez has 15 months on his contract, whether he is here next season will depend on Arsenal and no-one else,” said Wenger in his press conference on Monday, as reported by Press Association journalist Mark Mann-Bryans on his personal Twitter profile.

Arsenal will be hoping that they can restore their reputation against Munich at the Emirates on Tuesday after they lost the first leg 5-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Sanchez was the Gunners goalscorer on the night and has looked a frustrated figure at the club ever since they hit a rough patch which began with a loss to Watford in January.
The north London club’s title bid, as well as any Champions League hopes, was quickly derailed as they have lost to both Chelsea and Liverpool in the last month.
Following the defeat on Merseyside, Wenger’s side have dropped out of the top four and if they were to finish there it would be the first time in the Frenchman’s reign that they have failed to qualify for the Champions League.
In other Arsenal news, Ian Wright has called upon this player to quit the Emirates.
