Liverpool star Arthur Melo hailed by pundit as three new hires revealed

Alan Hutton has heaped praise on Arthur Melo for “going the extra mile” to prove himself to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Scotland defender said “it is refreshing” to see an ex-Barcelona and Juventus player investing in his development.

Arthur played 90 minutes for Liverpool’s under-23s against Leicester City on Sunday (18 September).

According to The Times‘ Paul Joyce (21 September), the centre-midfielder has privately enlisted the services of a physiotherapist, a fitness coach and a nutritionist.

The staff will work with Arthur daily in conjunction with Liverpool’s medical team.

The Reds signed Arthur on a season-long loan deal from Juventus on deadline day (1 September).

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the latest on the midfielder, Hutton said: “You have to give him credit.

“He was brought in because of the injuries Liverpool had throughout their midfield. We knew the likes of Thiago [Alcantara] were going to come back.

“Fair play to Arthur. He has realised that he needs to work over and above what he was doing. Playing in the under-23s he can show the manager exactly what he is capable of.

“He needs to get up to the speed of the Premier League. That is difficult.

“It is refreshing to see somebody who has played at the highest level go the extra mile to break into the team.”

In other news, a finance guru has claimed Liverpool can ‘charge whatever they want’ amid a ‘£10million’ overseas reveal.
