Everton defensive rock Ashley Williams has revealed teammate Leighton Baines is “a little bit odd” and always comes out with “really bizarre things.”
Williams, 32, made a switch to the Toffees in the summer for a £12million fee from Premier League rivals Swansea.
He has become an ever-present in the team under Ronald Koeman and he is often playing in the same back four as Baines, who has been at the club since 2007.
Williams has previously captained both Swansea and Wales and is known for being a big influence in the dressing room, but he has now told how teammate Baines is always making him laugh with “bizarre” statements.
“I’d have to say Leighton Baines,” told Williams to the Premier League website when asked who his funniest teammate was.
“Because, he’s a little bit odd. He sits next to me in the dressing room, so we are always talking and he’s always coming out with really bizarre things that crack me up.”

Like Williams, Baines is also 32 and they are the experienced heads of an Everton team looking to progress.
The pair are both regular starters in Koeman’s team, who are currently placed in seventh after 35 Premier League games and are set to play in Europe next season.
It is felt that the duo will want to remain as regulars in the team in the next campaign, but Koeman may have his eyes on younger replacements if he wants to help the Toffees break into the top six.
In other Everton news, this Toffees 31-year-old has been named the player of the season.
