Aston Villa attacking midfielder Albert Adomah has been named in the English Football League team of the week following his fantastic performance against Queens Park Rangers on the weekend.
The 29-year-old notched up two important goals as Steve Bruce’s men secured a 2-1 victory at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.
Jamie Mackie has put the hosts in the lead before the 20-minute mark but Villa were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time which Adomah calmly converted to equalise.
The Ghana international secured all three points for the away side with a fine finish in the second-half.
The result means that Villa remain in the playoff places but they are seven points behind the automatic spots currently held by Wolves and Sheffield United.
Adomah was the only Villa player selected in the EFL team of the week which was revealed on their official website on Monday afternoon.
The attacker has been in fine form for the Midlands club this season, contributing with eight goals and two assists in all competitions.
Adomah will be looking to continue his rich vein of form in front of goal when Bruce’s team host bottom of the table Sunderland on Tuesday evening.
In other Aston Villa news, a PL club are planning to make a bid for this Villa first team regular.
