Aston Villa fans urge slated 24-year-old to prove his worth in Bristol City clash

By Amir Mir

Gary Gardner starts for Aston Villa in their clash against Bristol City on Tuesday night – and fans on Twitter have urged him to make his selection count.

The 24-year-old starts his first game for the club since he was substituted at half-time during the 1-0 defeat at Cardiff at the start of January.

However, Steve Bruce has opted to bring the midfielder back into the starting line-up and he will be looking to prove his worth to his manager and supporters.

Gardner slots in alongside the creative Henri Lansbury and the combative Mile Jedinak who is expected to play a much deeper role in the game.

Supporters on Twitter backed Gardner to produce the goods and they were happy that a player of his ability will be on the field.
