Aston Villa fans deliver their verdict on Steve Bruce’s future as relegation looms

By Amir Mir

Aston Villa suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Barnsley on Tuesday night – and fans on Twitter want Steve Bruce to go.

Villa have produced relegation form of late as they have picked up one only point in 2017 and are on a four-game losing streak.

After losing their unbeaten home record against Ipswich at the weekend, the Midlands club succumbed to another defeat, this time at the hands of Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

Villa produced a dreadful display as a mistake-ridden performance led to numerous fans questioning Bruce’s future at the club.

There were a number of fans who asked for Bruce to be replaced in the Villa Park dugout as his side are now seven points above the relegation zone.

Fans believe he is lost and is no different than his predecessor, Roberto Di Matteo, who was sacked by the club in October.

One supporter stated that the players should not be blamed as Bruce’s  negative attitude is heading the club towards relegation.

Furthermore, there were other fans who simply had enough of the promotion expert, while others asked what the alternatives would be if he were to leave.

Bruce took charge in October and a supporter asked why in February has the club not got any style or togetherness about them.

Overall, fans were annoyed and angry at the management as Villa’s dreadful form in the Championship continues.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
