'You've done it now' - Aston Villa fans react to club tweet ahead of clash v Bolton

By Abigail Withey

Aston Villa fans have expressed their pessimism on social media ahead of their club’s Championship showdown against Bolton on Saturday afternoon.

The club shared a post on their official Twitter account ahead of the clash which compared Villa’s and Bolton’s current form from the past five matches in the competition.

Phil Parkinson’s side have been defeated in their past five fixtures, while Steve Bruce’s squad have secured three successive wins as well as two draws.

Villa wrote: “We’re on fire at the moment… let’s keep it going today.”

Despite the club’s encouraging post, fans appeared to see it as a curse and believed that the Villains would definitely lose .

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Bolton’s run of dismal results in the Championship so far means that are firmly sat at the bottom of the standings, while Bruce’s side are miles above in ninth position.

Aston Villa will be heading into Saturday’s fixture brimming with confidence after they most recently secured a huge 4-0 win away at the Pirelli stadium against Burton Albion.

On Tuesday goals were scored by Keinan Davis, Albert Adomah, Robert Snodgrass and Josh Onomah and the players will undoubtably be aiming to replicate their mid-week success at Villa Park.

In other Aston Villa news, fans have reacted on social media after Ross McCormack sealed an exit away from the club.
