'Seriously overrated' - Aston Villa fans fume as forgotten 29-year-old starts v Fulham
By Matt Bullin
Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Tommy Elphick is starting v Fulham this afternoon.
It is Elphick’s first start since the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in February, and since then he has played just 15 minutes of football.
The 29-year-old has been an unused substitute in seven of Villa’s last 10 games after losing his starting spot.
The club announced the starting XI via their official Twitter account prior to the 3pm kick off.

Elphick is one of five changes for Steve Bruce’s side – Gary Gardner, Jack Grealish, Scott Hogan and James Bree all start.

Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane, Leandro Bacuna, Alan Hutton and Albert Adomah have been axed from the starting XI.
Elphick has made 24 appearances for Villa this term – but only seven since the turn of the year – and Villa fans are not best pleased to see the return of their club captain.
Here is a selection of their Tweets:
