By Amir Mir
Jonathan Kodjia will miss Aston Villa’s clash against Cardiff on Monday afternoon – and fans on Twitter have reacted with disappointment.
The club confirmed on their official Twitter account that the Ivory Coast international will miss the clash against the Bluebirds due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Steve Bruce had initially hoped, Kodjia could stay and play his final game for the club before jetting off for the tournament.
The key Villa attacker has been instrumental for the club this season, scoring nine goals in 19 league games following his summer move from Bristol City.
Instead, former Scotland international, Ross McCormack starts up front, with the former Leeds player having three goals to his name this season.

Genuinely shocked Kodjia hasn't been allowed to play. I know they blocked Bailly but we have much more influence than United… #avfc

The Midlands side drew their last fixture 1-1 when a late penalty from Kodjia secured them a vital point against promotion rivals Leeds.
Additionally, Villa have picked up seven points from their last three league games, including winning at QPR.
Bruce’s side have already beaten Cardiff this term when goals from Albert Adomah, Kodjia and Rudy Gestede secured all three points on home soil.
At this moment in time, the Championship giants are six points off the play-off places and they know three points will help them close the gap on the top six during a crucial and busy period of the season
