Aston Villa fans react on Twitter as midfielder set to earn reported £40,000-a-week

By Amir Mir

Potential Aston Villa signing Henri Lansbury could earn £40,000-a-week at the club – and fans on Twitter were urging the deal to be signed and sealed.

The Birmingham Mail claim that the 26-year-old Nottingham Forest midfielder is to be handed a big money contract by Villa.

It follows a report by HITC Sport who claim a bid has been accepted for Lansbury and that Villa are preparing a medical for the former Arsenal man.

Fans on social media believe Lansbury will be a decent addition to Steve Bruce’s side who are aiming for promotion this season.

While another supporter stated that the big money wages reported that Lansbury will earn at the club is too much.

However, there were others who felt that the price in which they were paying for Lansbury is a bargain in particular at his age.

Others were thinking ahead and hoping the Forest captain can be signed up before the Wolves match on Saturday evening.

Bruce’s side take on their Midlands rivals at Molineux having shared the spoils during the reverse fixture in October.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

This season, Lansbury has scored six goals in 17 Championship games, including finding the back of the net when Forest drew 2-2 with Villa earlier on in the campaign.
