Aston Villa fans tear up Twitter as Tony Xia says players will leave this week
By Amir Mir
Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has informed supporters that up to four players will be told this week that they have no future at the club.
It is not yet known which players will leave the club, but fans taking to Twitter were pleased to hear the news and hope to see the back of underperformers from the club’s humiliating relegation last season.
The likes of Brad Guzan, Gabby Agbonlahor, Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott and Leonardo Bacuna got regular mentions from fans as Xia informed them of the news.
One fan said that Xia was the complete opposite to former owner Randy Lerner, as the American rarely interacted with supporters or gave any interviews to the media.
This has built up trust from the Villa Park faithful to the Chinese Tycoon, who has promised that the club will gain instant promotion under the management of Di Matteo.

@Dr_TonyXia Crikey, you are the complete opposite of Lerner. Can’t wait for your drunken 1am tweets when we win our first league game.
