Jeffrey Schlupp has snubbed Aston Villa and joined Crystal Palace for £12million – but Villa fans on Twitter are glad their club didn’t sign him.
Crystal Palace confirmed on their official Twitter account that midfielder Schlupp has agreed to join the club from Premier League champions Leicester City in a four-and-a-half year deal.

Villa manager Steve Bruce had earlier confirmed that the Ghana international had rejected a chance to join the club due to the “lure of the Premier League and its wages”.
However, fans on Twitter were glad the 24-year-old did not sign for them as they feel the powerful player has no end product.
One supporter was delighted with the Schlupp news but queried whether they are going to sign Norwich player Robbie Brady.
Fans stated that they prefer the versatile Norwich player Brady over Schlupp but questioned the club’s transfer methods.
Nonetheless, supporters were in agreement that Villa dodged a bullet in regards to the Schlupp transfer as they also stated he is not worth the money paid for him.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
I think we have dodged a £12 million pound bullet regarding Schlupp #avfc

Confused. SB says we spent a lot during summer, that we won't be doing the same this month.. tries getting Schlupp for 12 million? #avfc

i prefer Brady myself. Schlupp seems to be a winger without much end product. But agree on the bids. Very weird approach #avfc

Glad we missed out on Schlupp… does that mean we’re going back for Brady after Bruce making it public? #avfc

Bruce has added one addition so far during this January window, Manchester United youngster Sam Johnstone who has replaced Mark Bunn and Pierluigi Gollini between the sticks.
Additionally, they have sold target-man Rudy Gestede to Premier League side Middlesbrough which leaves Bruce with four attacking options in Ross McCormack, Gabby Agbonlahor, Jordan Ayew and Jonathan Kodjia – two of whom are at the Africa Cup of Nations.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, the club have received a bombshell as this £12million-rated striker wants to quit the club.
