Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to double blow during Rotherham clash

By Amir Mir

Jack Grealish and Birkir Bjarnason were both injured for Aston Villa in the first half during their clash against Rotherham – and fans on Twitter are worried.

Steve Bruce’s side picked up a 2-0 win in that match, thanks to an own goal from Will Vaulks and Jonathan Kodjia’s late effort sealing all three points.

However, prior to that Bjarnason, who had started the game, lasted only 33 minutes before being replaced by substitute Grealish.

More worryingly for the fans, he went off within ten minutes of coming on with what could be a possible knee injury.

This news would be a double injury blow to Bruce who will be worried by the pile up of his injured list at Villa Park.

At this moment in time, Scott Hogan, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, Andre Green, Gary Gardner, Gabby Agbonlahor and Ritchie de Laet are on the sidelines.

Therefore, it is no surprise that supporters were thinking that their team was cursed due to the number of casualties in recent weeks.

One fan was disappointed that Icelandic midfielder Bjarnason had to go off because he was having his best game in a Villa shirt.

He joined the club during the January transfer window when he was one of eight players to have made a switch.

Nonetheless, with very few options to choose form on the left for Bruce, one fan stated that academy duo Corey Taylor and Ricardo Calder should be given a chance.

Overall, the Villa Park faithful were dejected with the injuries and the fact that the list is growing at the club.
