Villa are currently 13th-placed in the Championship table and nine points adrift of the play-off places.
The Midlands giants were expected to compete for promotion this season following their relegation from the Premier League, but have been languishing in mid-table for the most part.
They have struggled in front of goal this campaign and have managed just 28 in 27 league games.
However, they have purchased two goalscoring midfielder in January and they could form a strong partnership with Jedinak offering the defensive cover.
