Aston Villa fans surprised as senior player axed for Huddersfield clash
By Amir Mir
Aston Villa take on Huddersfield in a Championship clash on Tuesday night – and fans on Twitter expressed their disappointment at Alan Hutton missing out.
The Villa Park faithful were surprised that they felt this way given the mixed views many have of him.
During their last match, Steve Bruce’s side recorded a 2-0 win against Rotherham with Jonathan Kodjia getting on the scoresheet.
Right-back Hutton started that match and was instrumental in his side recording four wins on the bounce and securing four consecutive clean sheets.
However, over the course of the season, Hutton’s performances have provided huge debate amongst fans as to whether or not he brings quality to the team.

The former Scotland international has never been questioned about his work rate or commitment, but other aspects of his game have been questioned.
Nonetheless, he is now set to miss out on the game against the Terriers with youngster James Bree coming into the starting line-up instead of the senior player.
Defender Bree will be familiar with these types of games given the fact that he represented Barnsley on the number of occasions they played their Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield.
Overall, supporters were hoping that Hutton was not injured with the club’s treatment room already full with a number of big absentees.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
