Aston Villa handed huge boost ahead of crucial tie with Reading
By Matt Bullin
Aston Villa have today announced that talisman Jonathan Kodjia will be fit to face Reading at Villa Park this Saturday.
Kodjia was replaced after 36 minutes in Villa’s 1-1 draw with Burton Albion last time out, after he had earlier netted for Steve Bruce’s side.
The Ivorian limped off with a dead leg and was thought to be a doubt for the Reading match, but earlier today Villa announced via their official Twitter account that he would be available.

Since Kodjia’s arrival for £10million from Bristol City last summer, Villa have scored 39 times in the Championship – 19 of which the 27-year-old has scored – despite him missing five games due to his Africa Cup of Nations commitments.
Kodjia’s 19 Championship goals have come in 37 appearances, and he has provided two assists too.

Following the Villans 1-1 draw last time out leaves them 11th, 11 points off the play-off places.
The clash with Reading will be a difficult one for Bruce’s side – the Royals currently sit fourth in the table – and look set to claim one of the four play-off places.
When the sides met earlier in the season Villa did come away with a win however. Kodjia opened the scoring for Villa, before Yann Kermorgant equalised – leaving Jordan Ayew to wrap up the points for Villa with a 90th minute penalty.
