Injury boost for relegation-threatened Aston Villa as young star nears full fitness
By Coral Barry
Jack Grealish has revealed he is nearing full fitness for Aston Villa after missing almost two months of action.
The Villa attacking midfielder Tweeted a picture to his 87,200 followers on Tuesday with the message, ‘Back outside running today, nearly there’.
Grealish, 20, has not featured for Villa since their FA Cup exit to Manchester City in late January.
Although one of Villa’s brightest young stars, Grealish’s absence has barely been noticed because of the club’s dreadful form and impending relegation.
Since Grealish last played, Villa have suffered six consecutive league losses and are now almost certainly heading down to the Championship.

Grealish rose to prominence in the second half of last season with a series of assured displays but he has suffered a disastrous campaign on the fringes of the team, starting just 11 matches in all competitions.

Villa are rock bottom of the table on 16 points and a massive 12 points from safety with seven games left to play.
The belief that Villa are all but relegated is so great that the summer exodus has already begun with the sackings of sporting director Hendrik Almstadt and chief executive Tom Fox last week.
The latest Villa news is that manager Remi Garde’s head is next on the chopping board with reports suggesting he has already learned his fate.
