Aston Villa news: Pundit can’t believe Luis Suarez update – ‘you’re joking?’
Aston Villa will replace Danny Ings with Luis Suarez if that becomes an option this summer.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the English striker’s future.
The Telegraph reported last week (27 May) that Villa are exploring a deal for Suarez, 35, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Atletico Madrid.

It is claimed Gerrard has remained in contact with his former Liverpool teammate who gave a glowing reference for January target Rodrigo Bentancur who eventually signed for Tottenham.
A Villa source told Football Insider (25 May) that the club will listen to offers for Ings this summer, just 12 months on from his £25million arrival from Southampton.
Kenny insists Villa won’t hesitate to replace Ings if a deal for Suarez becomes viable.
“Suarez? You’re joking?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They are getting the band back together. Gerrard, Coutinho, Suarez. That’s the kind of pull Gerrard has.
“No disrespect to Danny Ings but if they have the chance to sign Luis Suarez then they are going to let him go.
“It would be nice to see Suarez back in the Premier League, I will be keeping an eye on that one.”

Aston Villa finished 14th in the 2021-22 Premier League despite spending big in the summer of 2021.
Suarez made 35 appearances during the 2021-22 La Liga campaign, scoring 11 goals.
In other news, Aston Villa could sign the new ‘Kieran Tierney’ after a £25million update.
