‘Aston Villa backed to retain Jacob Ramsey amid Nottingham Forest advances’
Aston Villa are set to make a swift decision on midfielder Jacob Ramsey’s future amid transfer interest from Nottingham Forest.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Nottingham Forest are the frontrunners to sign Ramsey, despite growing interest from rival parties.
The 24-year-old made 29 appearances for Villa last term, notching one goal and three assists as the West Midlands club finished sixth.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are also keen on James McAtee as fellow attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White’s future remains uncertain.

Aston Villa warned they are ‘in trouble’ if they sell Ramsey
Ramsey made just 19 Premier League starts for Unai Emery’s side last season, amid competition from players like John McGinn.
But speaking live on talkSPORT on Monday, 21 July, former Aston Villa striker Dean Saunders warned: “Villa have got to keep him. Villa have got to keep building.
“Don’t let your best players leave. Any team, if you let your best players leave, you’re in trouble.
“You’re dismantling what you’re building. Don’t sell him.”
Ramsey should be keen on Nottingham Forest move
Football Insider verdict
While Saunders has outlined that Ramsey’s departure would be non-ideal for Aston Villa, the 24-year-old should be keen to make the switch to the East Midlands.

The former England Under-21 international will want more minutes, which is something that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men can facilitate.
Players such as Anthony Elanga, Ola Aina, and Callum Hudson-Odoi all became key men for Forest after leaving Manchester United and Chelsea, respectively.
Ramsey could enjoy a similar experience for Espirito Santo’s side, and Gibbs-White’s potential move to Tottenham would boost the Aston Villa man’s chances of enjoying game time at the City Ground, even if they also sign Manchester City starlet McAtee.
Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Gibbs-White has his heart set on Tottenham.
Meanwhile, Elanga’s recent move to Newcastle United paves the way for Ramsey to operate on the wing, which is an opportunity to showcase his versatility.
Elsewhere, Emery’s side have been tipped to join the race for Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss in a Villa News exclusive.
