Aston Villa plan to accept Cameron Archer offer after ‘£14m’ reveal – sources
Cameron Archer could be the next Aston Villa young gun to leave as Chelsea wrap up the signing of Omari Kellyman, sources have told Football Insider.
Archer returned to Villa Park following Sheffield United’s relegation from the Premier League. The club had a buy-back clause in the original £18million deal that saw him join the Blades last summer but it is believed that Villa bought him back at around £14m which is a £4m discount.
Despite that, Villa are open to listening to offers for the 22-year-old this summer, and it is now expected that he will depart the club before the transfer window shuts at the end of August.
Archer has made 10 Premier League appearances for Villa since the 2021-22 campaign, but was a regular last season for Sheffield United. He featured 29 times for the Blades, scoring four goals and picking up one assist in the process.
Aston Villa look to raise funds in player sales
Villa had originally moved on the academy star to help balance the books, and it appears that could be the case again this summer.
Football Insider revealed on 7 June that the club must raise £60million in player sales as their PSR proposal had been rejected. The club is believed to be close to the profit and sustainability limit.

Tim Iroegbunam has already joined Everton in this window, and Villa have been in talks with Juventus over a swap deal for Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Meanwhile, the Villans are still looking to strengthen the squad as the club prepares for Champions League football. The club are finalising the capture of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea after Football Insider broke the news that he was undergoing a medical in Germany on Sunday.
