Aston Villa player ratings v Rotherham: Inconsistent 29-year-old could be sold
By Amir Mir
Football Insider rates the players out of ten after Aston Villa beat Rotherham 2-0 in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Sam Johnstone 6 – The away team didn’t cause too much pressure and the on-loan keeper had a quiet game.
Alan Hutton 7 – Once again another solid display from the senior man who deserves his contract extension.
James Chester 7 – It isn’t a surprise that Chester’s change in form has resulted in the club picking up points and securing clean sheets.
Nathan Baker 7 – Just like Chester, he looked solid and now needs to show consistency at the heart of defence.

Neil Taylor 7 – A very good purchase by Bruce with the left-back very solid in defence, needs to be more of a threat in attack.
Mile Jedinak 7 – Allowed those in front of his to do their jobs, made 12 clearances but needs to improve his passing.
Henri Lansbury 7 – A very good all round display from the former Arsenal man who provides quality in defence and attack.
Conor Hourihane 8 – The 25-year-old came to life in the final 15 minutes and in truth should have bagged his second goal in as many games.
Albert Adomah 6 – The 29-year-old needs to add more consistency to his game or Bruce will sell the senior man. Didn’t get involved as much as he would have liked.
Birkir Bjarnason 6 – Went off injured after 33 minutes and will be disappointed because he looked lively.
Jonathan Kodjia 8 – Yet another goal from Villa’s main man who is producing the goods despite the big price tag.
Jack Grealish N/A (for Bjarnason, 33mins)
Jordan Amavi 6 (for Grealish, 44mins)
Keinan Davis N/A (for Kodjia, 89mins)
