Aston Villa star Emi Martinez reacts to ‘focus’ message from exit-linked Buendia
Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez has responded to Emiliano Buendia’s “focus” message on social media ahead of their match against West Ham.
The Argentinean winger has had a difficult start to the season for the Midlands club, appearing 11 times in the Premier League without starting any games.
Buendia started in Villa’s Champions League 1-0 loss to Monaco (21 January), and was unimpactful before being substituted in the 86th minute.
Manager Unai Emery will be hoping that the former Norwich man can find his form soon, as Villa attempt to qualify for the Champions League for the second season on-the-bounce.
Aston Villa Argentinean-duo looking to game against West Ham
Following a 2-2 draw against Arsenal, Villa find themselves eighth in the table, but only five points behind Newcastle in fourth.
Buendia, who has been linked with a move to Championship side Leeds, is clearly hoping to play a part in the match against West Ham, as he posted on his Instagram story a message saying: “Focus on Sunday.”

His club and international teammate, Martinez, responded by reposting the message as the pair look to help their side claim three points.
Villa will face West Ham on Sunday, and then will refocus on their Champions League campaign as they face Scottish side Celtic on 29 January.
News surrounding Colombian striker, Jhon Duran, continues to be a key feature of Villa’s January transfer window. Paul Robinson has told Football Insider that West Ham must “ring Aston Villa” to establish the club’s valuation of the forward.
In other news, Aston Villa have rejected a £7million offer for one of their stars.
