Aston Villa star Mings hit hard after 'horrible' Terry reveal - Kenny
Tyrone Mings and other defenders at Aston Villa will be hit particularly hard by the departure of John Terry.
So says ex-Premier League shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Villa confirmed Terry’s exit on 26th July.
Terry claimed it had been an “honour and privilege” to represent the club first as a player and then as assistant head coach to Dean Smith.
The former Chelsea and England defender revealed that he is ready to make the step up into a senior management role.
Kenny claimed that the 40-year-old’s exit will come as a “big blow” in the dressing room and particularly to the club’s defenders.
“It will be a big blow, definitely,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“He had an unbelievable playing career and to have someone like him in and around the club, I’m sure they all look up to him and what he’s achieved.
“They will listen to him and take on a lot of advice, especially defenders. You think of the likes of Tyrone Mings and I’m sure he’ll be a big loss to people like him.
“It’s gonna be a horrible one for Villa players like Mings to take, I’m sure. But he’s got plans to be a manager and you can’t fault him for that.
“He’s done his sort of apprenticeship in coaching and managing at Villa. It will be interesting to see where he ends up next.”
