Maguire: 'I don't see an issue' with Aston Villa shattering wage structure for Grealish
Jack Grealish would be worth every penny if he is to sign a bumper new Aston Villa contract.
That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively after the Telegraph reported on 29th June that Villa are confident of tying their star man down to a new deal.
It is claimed that Villa are looking to extend Grealish’s deal by a year and boost his wage to beyond £150,000-a-week.
Grealish signed a new contract with Villa in September last year committing him to the club until 2025.
Football Insider first revealed on 9th April that the playmaker has told friends he is interested in swapping Villa for Man City.
Maguire claimed that handing Grealish a new-and-improved deal is a no-brainer given his worth to the team.

“I don’t see there being an issue with Grealish and the wage structure,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“He is worth a certain number of points per season. Wilfried Zaha’s on £140,000-a-week at Palace but he will convert three or four draws into victories per season.
“That’s the difference between being relegated and finishing mid-table. I think Grealish has the same impact on Villa.
“But there is also a very high chance of him being one of the most sought-after domestic players in the country after the Euros and you have to reward him accordingly.
“There would be no grumbles in the rest of the Aston Villa dressing room. Jack Grealish delivers, it’s as simple as that.“
