Senior trio Aaron Tshibola, Libor Kozak and Jed Steer will start in Aston Villa’s Premier League 2 encounter against West Brom on Monday evening.

The newly formed league replaced the old Under-21 league this season, with players under the age of 23 eligible to play in order to increase the competitive nature of youth football.

Midfielder Tshibola, 21 has missed his sides previous five encounters with a groin strain, as manager Roberto Di Matteo stated he could be in line to face Newcastle on Saturday.

Forward Kozak, 27,  and goalkeeper Steer, 23 have also been selected for the Midlands derby in gameweek five of the newly named Premier League two.

Academy product Andre Green, who has made sporadic substitute appearances this season, will also start at Walsall’s Banks’s stadium.

The club’s official Twitter account confirmed on Monday afternoon that the senior trio will start in the Premier League 2 encounter.

Tshibola has made three appearances for Villa this season, while Kozak has made two appearances from the bench, with Steer yet to feature this term.

The young Lions have picked up four points this season, as they sit in ninth place out of 12 teams in the league.

In contrast the senior team sit in 18th positon in the Championship table with eight points to their name having picked up five draws from their last six games.
