Axe looms large over Leeds squad as Heck confirms who will feature in last chance saloon
Leeds United have endured a miserable campaign after their early season hopes of some success – and while the majority of other Championship clubs will be calling an end to their season on Sunday, the Whites have chosen to extend their suffering for a little longer.
Sitting in 14th prior to the final day of the season, the highest that Leeds can finish is 12th, while they could also slip as low as 16th if they lose to Queens Park Rangers and other results do not go their way.
It is a bitterly disappointing finish after early season hopes of a top six spot at this stage, and much work is needed to try and rectify the errors that have been made over the last 12 months.
Many of those came last summer, the club choosing quantity over quality during the transfer window, and it looks as though many of the new arrivals, as well as those already bedded in at Elland Road, will be fighting for their futures.
However, their last chance saloon sits not in England but in south east Asia, with the club’s post-season trip to Myanmar the final opportunity for the under-fire stars to prove Paul Heckingbottom what they have to offer before the transfer market opens again.

The former Barnsley boss has confirmed to the Yorkshire Evening Post that those featuring on the trip will be anyone who is available after Sunday’s clash at Elland Road, with the likes of Pontus Jansson, Pablo Hernandez and Tyler Roberts missing out for a variety of reasons.
The axe is looming large over a whole host of senior stars and now Heckingbottom is giving them all one last chance to save their skins – otherwise, they could be on their way out.
In other Leeds United transfer news, one 29-year-old must have played his final game for the club after a major bombshell.
