Ayden Heaven sends three-word injury update amid Man United absence

Ayden Heaven has given an indication as to when he could return to action for Man United after his injury layoff.

Heaven left Arsenal to complete a move to Old Trafford earlier this year, and quickly became part of the first-team setup under Ruben Amorim.

Indeed, the teenage centre-back made a positive impression during his early outings for his new club, settling in well to the pressure of senior football.

After Heaven impressed for Man United from the bench against Arsenal, the 18-year-old was handed a place in the starting XI, as Amorim attempted to cope with a number of injury issues.

However, the run in the starting lineup for the young defender was prematurely cut short due to fitness issues of his own.

Ayden Heaven hints at imminent return

After producing a reliable performance on his first start in the Europa League against Real Sociedad, the centre-back was then given his first Premier League start against Leicester last month.

That though, was brought to an abrupt end when Heaven was stretchered off shortly after half time a 3-0 win for Man United, following a clash with Patson Daka.

With his leg having also been placed in a brace as he was carried off the field, there will have been fears that the teenager was facing an extended absence.

It appears as if that may not be the case and that the centre-back may be back in action in the near future, judging by Heaven‘s latest social media activity.

Taking to his Instagram story on Friday afternoon (4 April), the Man United ace posted a picture of himself during that match with Real Sociedad, and then added the caption: “Soon back Reds!”

Football Insider Verdict

This latest update is likely to provide a welcome mood boost around Old Trafford after the midweek defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Heaven looked as though he would be a very strong addition to the backline for Man United when he first made his way into the side.

His absence will therefore have been a big concern, both in terms of what the club will have missed with his quality, and the risk of a long spell out stunting his development early on in his career.

It now looks as though that may well be avoided with the centre-back seemingly already close to a return, which may prompt something of a sigh of relief around Man United.
