‘Baffling’ Moshiri slammed after £100m Everton reveal – pundit

Everton will not succeed unless Farhad Moshiri changes his ways and listens to his advisors.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after a turbulent week for the Toffees.

Today (21 January) Moshiri released a statement addressing concerns from the Everton fanbase.

He revealed the club is set for a cash injection of £100m as a “clear demonstration of my commitment”.

This came after Rafa Benitez was sacked as Everton manager on Sunday (16 January) following the previous day’s loss to Norwich.

McAvennie insists Moshiri needs to listen to advisors with plenty of footballing experience.

“I said as soon as Rafa was appointed that this would happen,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I think everyone knew it would. Why they wanted to appoint him and why Rafa took the job, I don’t know.

“Now they are looking for yet another manager.

“There is no question Moshiri has stumped up the money, that’s obvious, and another £100m shows that.

“But I don’t know who he has been listening to. It’s either too many people or not enough.

“Quite a few of the decisions Everton have made in recent years have been really bad.

Everton fans cheering

“The guy isn’t hands-on, this is a big problem for me. You need to understand the club on a day to day level, it’s baffling you can’t be there every week.

“Whoever comes in next needs to take control of everything, it’s the only way Everton can turn this around.”
