'Barca are calling' - Tottenham fans react to Sissoko display against Leicester

By Amir Mir

Moussa Sissoko started for Tottenham as they beat Leicester City 6-1 on Thursday night – and fans on Twitter have provided mixed views on his performance.

The 27-year-old played on the right-hand side of attack for Spurs as he was selected to provide attacking and defensive cover for his team with Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier out injured.

Some fans felt that he didn’t perform on the night despite his team securing a comprehensive win on the road.

Other were pleased with his display and were trying to encourage him to get better after a poor debut season at White Hart Lane.

One fan stated that ‘Barca are calling’ referring to reports in Spain that Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan are interested in his services.

The report came from Don Balon on Wednesday, which would have surprised many because Sissoko has failed to score a single goal this term.

Nonetheless, he failed to threaten the opposition keeper at the King Power Stadium and he will be hoping to start the final match of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on already-relegated Hull away from home, with no chance of Spurs losing second spot in the table.

Chelsea have already sealed the title, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal vying for the final two Champions League places.

Since making a £30million move from Newcastle last summer, Sissoko has failed to score a goal in all competitions and has started just six league games.

Sissoko moved to White Hart Lane after the Magpies had suffered relegation to the second tier of English football.

If he stays at Spurs or in the Premier League then he will come up against his former club next season after they earned instant promotion from the Championship under Rafa Benitez.
