St Johnstone are expected to have midfielder Matty Willock back to fitness for the club’s meeting with Rangers at McDiarmid Park on Tuesday night, according to a report.
BBC Sport claims that Willock, 21, is likely to overcome an illness that ruled him out of the Saints’ 2-0 win against Ross County at the weekend.
Willock is currently on loan at St Johnstone from Premier League giants Manchester United.
The central midfielder joined the Saints in the January transfer window and has made three appearances in all competitions for Tommy Wright’s side since.
ESPN reported last year that Rangers were eyeing up the signing of Willock, so it will be very interesting to see how he gets on against the Glasgow giants this week to see if Pedro Caixinha was wrong to not follow up his interest in him in the summer.
Graeme Murty’s side can move within six points of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic with a win against St Johnstone.
The Light Blues could turn up the pressure on the reigning champions, especially as they do not play until 24 hours after when Dundee travel to Celtic Park.
The Gers will no doubt be eyeing revenge against Saints after losing to them 3-1 at Ibrox in December.
In other Rangers news, this attacker has agreed a deal with a top-four club after leaving Ibrox.
