Huge update on status of Leeds v Middlesbrough match - confirmed

Leeds’ Championship clash with Middlesbrough has been passed and will play out as planned on Friday night.

The news was announced on the BBC Tees Sport Twitter page and confirmed on the official Middlesbrough site on Friday lunchtime.

The confirmation comes after a week of doubt with bad weather affecting the north of England.

Staff at the Riverside have been working all week to ensure the clash can go ahead and the news has finally been confirmed.

It’s great news for Leeds fans and the clash is a massive one, with both sides looking for a spot in the play-offs.

Middlesbrough have the advantage and sit three places above Leeds before tonight’s game but a win for Leeds would draw them level on points.
