BBC pundit questions whether Liverpool need to replace this player after Stoke display

BBC pundit Kevin Kilbane questioned whether Liverpool need to replace James Milner at left-back following his “superb” display against Stoke.
Jurgen Klopp’s side beat the Potters 4-1 at Anfield on Tuesday evening with goals from Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Imbula (OG) and Daniel Sturridge.
Former England international Milner played at full-back and produced a top quality performance to play his part in the Reds securing a much-needed three points in the Premier League title race.
Former Everton man Kilbane hailed the versatile player for his display as he posed this question.
“When you see James Milner playing as well as he has done today you think do Liverpool even need a new left back?” Kilbane questioned on BBC Sport.

“He has been superb today and excellent going forward.”
Klopp has utilised Milner in the full-back role after dropping Alberto Moreno from that position after a string of poor performances at the start of the campaign.
As a result, Milner has played 16 Premier League games this season, all at full-back, scoring five goals and supplying two assists.
He has also helped his side keep five clean sheets in the process, including conceding just one goal in their last three league games.
The Merseyside club moved into second place with that win against Stoke as they aim to close the six-point gap on leaders Chelsea.
Additionally, they can also widen the one-point lead on third-placed Manchester City when the two clash at Anfield on New Year’s Eve.
